I'm trying to connect my windows 7 pc to an XP pc using a crossover cable. My 7 pc is connected to the internet and my XP is not. I've looked up info online but it seems I just cant get the two to connect. I've modified the IPs accordingly but still unable. Maybe I'm missing some step. I know my win 7 has ip4 and ip6 that i can configure, but my XP only has regular ip protocol.

for internet sharing is quite complicated, but i have a easy solution to try:
share your internet connection with 3rd party program like: connectify
