Can a ddr2 motherboard support a ddr3 graphics

Hi,
I have a mobo with INTEL CHIPSET FW 82801DB and a pentium 4 processor. My question is that whether it will support modern graphics card with DDR3 memory basically most of them being PCI-e compatible. I dont know whether these gpus support my motherboard... Please help and reply as soon as possible.... I did like to play battlefield 3 on high setings with 60fps. please suggest a good graphics card under 150$(10000 INR). also i have a 4GB ddr2 RAM...

In theory it should work fine. But you will struggle to play any recent games with a Pentium 4.

As long as your motherboard has a PCIe x16 slot (regardless of revision) you can use any GPU with it. However with your specs and a 150$ GPU you won't be playing many modern triple-A games at 60FPS.

also depends on the mb chipset and bios. not all hardware will work on all mb. if the mb is nvidia chipset you have to use nvidia gpu. at some point with old hardware you have to replace it as both hardware and os will outstrip the old hardware.

I believe with your processor you will very much struggle with playing newer game titles, and so I recommend you a cheap processor that is competing an I7-4770k (which is around 300$.)
The Athelon 4x Series 860K.
It is 75$, with stunning performance.
I highly recommend this CPU.

The Athlon 860k in no way competes with the i7 4770... Its much much slower.

Agreed CPU is not there for gaming, see if you can start a cheaper i3 build with a 750/750ti/950. If you can't do that might get a ps4/xb1.

I'm assuming the pc build's for gaming.
The Athlon 4x 860k does compete with the i7 4770k gaming-wise.

Any mobo that has a PCI-e x 16 slot will support any graphics card irrespective of memory type. As for your mobo it has a PCI-e x 16 slot, so it is supported.

You won't be getting 60fps with that PC, you need a whole new system.
