Trying to debate which processor to go for but as Im comparing I cant tell which ones support ddr4. Ive looked at the i7-3770k, i5-4460, and i5-6500, and im pretty sure they should support ddr4. |Does anyone know for sure? Can anyone make some recommendations?

Actual app performance with intel processors is largely unaffected by ram speed or type.

DDR4 ram is now price competitive with ddr3, so for a new build, it makes sense to me to go with DDR4.

Most lga1151(aka skylake) motherboards will support ddr4 ram.
Some will support low voltage(1.35v) ddr3 ram, but they tend to be basic budget motherboards.
You can also get ddr4 support on motherboards with X99 chipsets.

More importantly is the question of what the pc will be used for.

For gaming, there is little need for more than 4 threads, and fast cores are very important.

For batch multithreaded applications, many cores is good and the I7 processors will be better.

i5-6600k is the best bang for your buck right now, if you are looking for a new build on the new arch. DDR4 works for sure, with pretty crazy clock speeds. I did a build earlier this year and was able to go ssd, ddr4, i5-6600k, and GTX 980 for about 1,300 bucks.

If you let us know exactly what you are going to use your build for, that would probably help us guide you.
