I currently have integrated graphics, and I'm looking to upgrade this to a GTX 750 ti, but before I buy the new card I want to make sure that everything will be compatible. My 500w power supply should be OK, but I'm not sure if it has the right cable to connect to the new graphics card. What cable should I be looking for?

Any help will be appreciated, sorry if this is really obvious I just don't want to waste money on a new GPU if it won't work :)

Thanks

Solution
For GPUs you want a PCIe 6+2pin connector.

Most 750TI's (maybe all?) don't actually need a power cable, they're powered directly from the PCIe slot.

A 500W PSU should be more sufficient. A 750TI is adds minimal power (+60W at 100% load or something like that), hopefully it's of relatively decent quality too.

Which model are you buying? A 500w PSU will be sure enough, but I just want to make sure. What is the model of the 750ti and the PSU? And the rest of your components? If you could post that it would be fantastic
Anyways generally the 750ti is. Low TDP card and will run on PCIE power, not even need a 6 pin. Some cards like the MSI and gigabyte version has a 6 pin. Most 500w PSU will have one if you need it. The EVGA version runs completely on PCIE power and no 6 pin needed.

I'm planning on buying this - http://www.amazon.co.uk/MSI-Nvidia-750Ti-Graphics-Dvi-D/dp/B00ZA1IFGA/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1459882708&sr=8-6&keywords=750+ti+2gb as I was told that there isn't much difference between models and just to go for the cheapest that has the best reviews.

Info about my PC:
Processor: AMD A4-6320 @ 4GHz(after turbo boost) with 2 cores
Motherboard: Gigabyte ga-f2a58m-hd2
Current Graphics Card: AMD Radeon HD 8370D with the core at 1300mhz (after overclock)
RAM: 8GB DDR3

I'm not really sure what my PSU is, but it's a cheap one for sure. It says that it's a ATX switching power supply and its Pemtium model is 500U??

I got the PC pre-built from amazon for £300 and its not very good, so I want to get some decent fps out of it.
