The meat and bones of the PC:

Now thats about the stone skinny of the bones of the pc now heres the issue im having

1. I bought this:
2. When put into the PCIE port i got an empty screen. Just black. Only an amber light where it should be blue.

3. Now that was happening when I had the DVI cord from my monitor plugged into the Graphics card.

4. That also happened when I plugged the DVI cord from monitor into the Onboard Graphics while the card was still installed.

5. So I take out the 750ti and plug DVI back into Onboard graphics to look at bios.

6. So I went into my bios
7. The Primary Video Adapter is already set to PCI-E without the card being in the computer ?

8. Meanwhile at some point before putting in the Card I uninstalled all the Drivers from the Athlon and even used a software that prevented it from reinstalling when I booted up again until I said it should reinstall.

10. Needless to say I was still faced with this black abyssal monitor screen.

11. Also there are no PCI 6 pin connectors on this card because all it needs is to be plugged into is the PCIE slot. So I didnt miss any connections because I was confounded with the card when I first had it and it took me quite a bit to trust that I wasnt missing anything and that the card was ok without being plugged into lol.

I think that might be all the information i can share. Hope I didnt forget anything.

One more thing i do want to mention though to save us all time. I heard a few things about incompatibility of HP Integrated Graphics with 700 series of Graphics cards I think ? Heres where I saw this
Now if that is quite the case then I was also wondering... I know it may be 700 series but would this card work? I know I might be answering my own question here but hey its worth a shot maybe there might be a small crucial difference?

Solution
well that can be life with a prebuilt - I would see if that card requires uefi bios to work or can switch to legacy mode ?? I think theres a statement at evga on this newer release [bios revisions ] cards not working on older prebuilts legacy bios's ??

my not be your issue but heres my disclaimer on all that

some models of store bought computers [dell.hp,acer,ect..] may come with a ''locked or fixed'' bios and may not allow you to change certain hardware as a video card.. this is done to protect them from undue warranty claims and refunds .this is not done to hurt you but to protect them. you really need to see if that upgrade has been proven to work in your model first before you invest money in it .. there are a lot of...

you got to know the the boards in these computers are not like the ones we use to do custom builds witch are open to upgrading with in the boards compatibly . the bios is custom made for there design and just for the parts they authorize to be used on there computers there only guaranteed to work as is out of the box as you bought it ,..

also these boards do not have to meet atx standards and there pci-e slot power may not do the required 75w needed for most higher end cards and can be limited to say 45 or 60w that is all thats needed with the low end factory oem cards that it may of shipped with

look at hp forums on things like this for your model

Solution
well ?? I would look and see what cards will work out of the box not to say no card could work you just need to do good homework on what one will and what will not ''before you buy ''

thing is there only guaranteed to work as is as you bought it out of its box from hp and upgrades you do is your own risk

remember they sell computers and don't care about you upgrading them [that just hurts there sales ] if your old one aint do well then they got that hot new better model to sell you ..

well if windows you would still need to get a fresh copy cause its tyed to the motherboard the rest you may could just swap over to a new aftermarket board

but more then likely you will need a new fresh copy of windows

maybe find a nice m-atx board like this that supports you cpu and swap it out reuse everything from off the hp board and install a fresh copy of windows ??
