Hey guys!
I currently have a GTX 980 TI in my PC that I use mostly for gaming. Recently a friend of mine had suggested that I use my old GTX 690 as well and set it up as a dedicated PhysX card.
My question is if I add my GTX 690 as a dedicated PhysX card will it improve the performance of games utilizing Nvidia Physx, or will it actually cause a performance decrease due to it being a much older card than my 980 TI? I also want to be sure that its not going to decrease performance for games that don't utilize Nvidia PhysX.
Would greatly appreciate if anyone here could give me an answer to this so I know whether I should go ahead and use my 690. PC specs will be included below if needed.
OS: Windows 10 Home
Processor: Intel Core i7-4960X @ 3.6Ghz
Memory: 16GB DDR3 @ 1866MHZ
Graphics Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB FTW GAMING ACX 2.0+
Hard Drive: 3TB Seagate HDD (Not sure which one specifically)
500GB Samsung 850 EVO SSD
Motherboard: Asus SABERTOOTH x79
Power Supply: Corsair Professional Series Gold AX1200 1200W PSU
Tower: Aerocool Strike-X ST-Bk Full Tower Gaming Case
Potential Dedicated PhysX card: EVGA 04G-P4-2690-KR GeForce GTX 690'
CPU is liquid cooled, GPUs would only have their stock fans, and the case fans. Heat has never been an issue as of yet, plenty of air movement keeping the case cool.
If you need any more information please let me know and I will respond as quickly as I can.
