I'm looking to upgrade an old PC with a new hard drive, this PC is about 8 years old, it doesn't seem to support sata power and only has 4 pin molex cables (and a couple 6 pins)

New hard drives have 8 pin connectors or sata power and I assume I cant just take 2 of the 4 pin cables and plug them both into the 8 pin slot on the hdd so I was looking around for adapters but I'm not sure what adapter I would need

This adapter appears to be what I'm looking for: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812200061
But i just want to make sure

Upgrading the power supply isn't an option, any advice would be appreciated, thanks

TLDR;
Old PC doesn't have power cables that are compatible with new HDDs, looking for the right adapter to make it compatible

Solution
what you got is what you need.

If the motherboard doesn't have SATA ports then you will also need to get a SATA controller as well.
