Is this a good Computer for gaming/recording

Performance wise it would be fine, but it's never a good idea to drop $200+ on a motherboard and then buy a locked processor. You won't get any performance benefit out of that board than you will a $50 one, all you get are bells and whistles. Bottom line, if I were you I'd put down for a K variant CPU, or go with a cheaper motherboard.
