Hi everyone,

I'm building my first video editing pc to cut an indie film project being shot on NX1 which uses h.265 at 4K. From what I understand, Premiere Pro does not use decoding/encoding at gpu but only at cpu so I decided not to get gtx 960. I would like this system to be smooth for cutting 4k footage on h.265 (which Premiere now supports) on a 1440p monitor.

Any feedback or pointers is appreciated. Thanks!
I'm in Korea so some of the components might have different names or even brands that don't exist elsewhere.(?)

Intel i7-6700k
Samsung DDR4 16gb PC4-1700
Asus Z170-A STCOM
Samsung 950 Pro 256GB M.2
MSI GTX 970 OC D5 4GB
2x Toshiba 3TB (3.5HDD/SATA3/7200rpm/64MB)
Legend 700W 80Plus
Thermolab BADA 2010 CPU cooler
Windows 10 Home K

Soo... if premiere pro doesn't use gpu why did you go with the more expensive gtx 970 over the cheaper gtx 960.
Also there's a horrible box of death and destruction in your build known as a shitty psu. replace it with something made by seasonic, evga, xfx or antec. the only thing legendary about that "legend" psu is how it will burn down your house.

You also might wanna check how that cooler works with skylake cpus as some older coolers have been bending the cpus.
Another option is to get a i7 5820k instead of the 6700k as it has 6 cores.

It's slim pickings for those power supply brands here in Seoul, but I will give it a look. Last thing I want to do is burn down my office.

I was going to go for the 960 then I found out that Premiere does not support graphics card decoding/encoding. Do you think it will still be beneficial for my system to use 960 when dealing with HEVC?

Also, will this setup work will with a 1440 monitor?
