I bought a new router a little while ago since the one I have currently is ancient and an old [CENSORED] bigpond one. I bought an Archer C7 but when I connect it all up and login to the router there is an issue "WAN Port not connected" or something along those lines. Although it's definitely connected. I've tried both rj11 and rj45 connectors. But if I daisy chain that router through my old one then it works. Which means the port isn't dead.
The connection runs from the phone socket on my wall and goes to a splitter that connects off to my landline phone and my router.
TL;DR: New router says the WAN port isn't connected when it is. WAN port is fine when daisy chained through old router so port isn't busted. Old router works fine out of port.
