i have a x79-ud3 v 1.0 motherboard everything was working fine except it took about 10 minutes to boot into windows i could enter the bios no problems and when in windows no problems . but i decided to flash my motherboard to see if that fixed the long loading time i flashed my bios from f11 to f20 with @bios windows app from gigabyte and went smooth, comp boots up faster but now my usb ports dont work when booting up they work fine once windows has loaded but i cant access my bios and now im getting stuck on start up repair because i cant use my keyboard to select normal startup. any help would be appreciated

i have windows 7 64bit
and i have tried 3 keyboards and all the same

***update*** i have purchased a usb to ps2 adapter and i can now select between startup repair and normal startup but i still cant access my bios

when you updated bios you also set bios to a default state, you must get into it and use the settings that pc had set in the old bios

In the past i have had the same issue and i can say those adaptors don't work always, i would always grab a proper ps/2 keyboard and it worked, enter bios and turn on Legacy support on the usb's used, also check that the usb 2.0 controller is enabled , save ,exit , upon restart, power off and replace keyboard to usb . after that it would work for boot bios etc
The startup repair may be due to the fact that bios sata mode changed too . Most good installers will of had that set on AHCI so check that too before you boot to windows (All found under Peripherals tab)
