URGENT PLZ: LAN port not working (maybe)?

Did you install the drivers for your motherboard's LAN port? You can use the disc that came with the motherboard initially and then download the latest from the motherboard manufacturer's web site once you are online.

Check your internet icon in the bottom right of the desktop. If there's a red x over it while the cable is plugged in then run the troubleshooter by right clicking it and selecting troubleshoot. Also, if you have the mobo cd, there may be Network Interface Card (NIC) drivers on it that you'll need for first time setup.
