Hello!
So i have older windows XP PC running woth celeron D 331 and ATI Radeon x300/x550/x1050 series 128MB and older Samsung 1280x1024 5/4 ratio monitor.
Do i have any chance to scale from 1280x1024 to 2560x2048?
My monitor only allows to use 1280x1024. But i want to use 2560x2048. And if i use windows 7? Can i run there my pc on 2560x2048?
And i have TV which i can connect to PC and it is 720P i think can i scale resolution there?

Solution
if you scale resolution above what the monitor supports, all you are doing is making things appear smaller. There is a physical limitation to how many pixels exist on the monitor, and the number of physical pixels is the maximum supported resolution on the monitor. So display detail would not increase, everything would just appear smaller.
1280x1024 means 1280 pixels horizontal, 1024 pixels vertical

Also, higher resolutions require higher performance from the computer, so your machine may run slower all without giving you any real benefit.
