TOSHIBA Hard drive, Access denied

Hello, I'm having problems with my external hard drive, I bought it a couple of months ago and it was working fine with my laptop. About three weeks ago I plugged it to my tv to watch some movies and it also worked fine, but when i went back to connect it to my laptop it didn't work, and it said i was denied access to its content.
It seems to be working fine on the TV though.
I tried changing the ownership, and it didn't work, also tried the command chkdsk/f and nothing happened.

What can I do to get access to mi files?

Thank you I'll try that. I have Win 10, hope it works, i'll keep you posted!

Hi there Michelle_46,

Have you tried to first take ownership and then grant permissions? If you haven't done both, you can check this tutorial out: http://www.preyerplanning.com/take-ownership-of-entire-...
This tutorial is for Win 7. Yet, for other Operating systems should be similar(or same) to this one.
