This is my computer specs http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03933829,
I was wondering if my psu 300w is able to handle a 750ti? I know that there have been similar threads but I believe it is different in every situation. psu---
Internal 300W (100V-240V) Form factor: Internal ATX Total wattage: 300W Nominal input voltage range: 200-240V/3A (50-60Hz) Dimensions: 150mm x 140mm x 86mm (5.9 x 5.5 x 3.4 inches)

Solution
The 750ti calls for 350w PSU. The 300w PSU in your HP isn't bad, but it also isn't really made to be pushed beyond what it can do.

It will work, lets get that out of the way. However you really do want to upgrade that PSU to something around 400 watts, this is to make sure the GPU always has enough power so you don't start running into performance issues.

Use a PSU calculator like http://powersupplycalculator.net/ to figure out what you need by inputting your mobo, adapater cards, cpu, ram, disks, etc. Add a margin of error.

Solution
Your system with a 750 ti is only going to use around 12-15 amps. Your 300 watt PSU, even if only putting out 250 watts, should still deliver around 20 amps. Select a GTX 750 ti that does not require a 6-pin PCIe external power source and it should work ok. Upgrade the power supply when you can since it won't be operating under ideal conditions.

The HP Pavilion 500-164 desktop usually comes with Windows 8.1 installed as the OS and has a security feature that is enabled called secure boot. You will need to disable it , and in the bios you will also need to enable legacy support , before the computer will boot with a GTX 950 installed.

Same for Windows 10.
