Hey guys
1.what does Intel® W stand for in Intel® Xeon® Processor E5-2687W v4 ???
2.is this CPU worth buying?if not which of v4 cpus you guys suggest? i want a dual socket motherboard for my rendering and animation purposes.
3.why Asus in z10 series didn't put Intel turbo boost tech?
4.will Asus release new generation of dual socket workstation motherboards for Intel e5 v4?

Solution
The W indicates it's designed for workstation usage. This usually means faster clocks and higher power usage. It's worth it if finishing your work a few minutes faster is worth thousands of dollars. Otherwise, probably not. I imagine that most people buying these work for movie studios and financial analysis firms.
I'd like to know your source for #3. Asus should support the full features of the CPU. You may not be able to adjust turbo boost, but that is because it is locked in the CPU.
I don't know if there will be a new generation, but they should at least update the bioses for the last to support the new cpus.

Dear Calculagator
first of all thanks you so much for your answer.
I checked several times in asus.com. here is the link:
1.http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Z10PED16_WS/specifications/
2.http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Z10PED16_WS/specifications/
but this X99 supports Intel turbo boost ..
3.http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/X99WSIPMI/specifications/
as you know this CPU supports 1600 to 2400 . for heavy rendering especially in maya , after effects and adobe premier which type of memory is better than the others and is more stable?
Thanks in advance

I still don't see where it says the board doesn't support turbo boost. The CPU and Chipset both support it. I don't know what else would be required.
Faster memory is better. Unless you have a dishonest vendor over-speccing its RAM, it shouldn't matter for stability. To be sure, make sure you buy RAM that has been validated with your motherboard and CPU.
