i know it's better to wait till summer but i need to build a system now (probably i will build another in summer too since this will go as a gift for my friend) so any suggestions ?

Solution
Nah you could build a decent system for that, you just won't be playing brand new games at 1080P ultra high settings.

500$ probably won't let you game well at higher than medium or low settings 1080p for most modern games and editing will be quite slow because you won't get the strongest equipment, if you are able to raise the budget you'll get much more bang for your buck
