Hello Fellow humans,

I am in the process of upgrading my PC, which i built about 2 years ago and have been upgrading ever so often. I would like to use this PC for Gaming, Streaming, Recording, Editing. Money is a factor so I need to know what i should focus my money on right now, and what i should change in the long run.

My current Build:
Main Board - GIGABYTE FM2+ Series Motherboard
Ram - 16 GBs
CPU - AMD A8-5600K APU 3.60Ghz
GPU - GeForce GTX 750 Ti
OS - Win10
Fans - 2 standard fans that came with the case
PowerSupply - Cooler Master G750M
Monitor can be found here - http://www.cnet.com/products/gateway-fhd2303l/specs/
(I am currently using dual monitors, the second one is just a basic dell monitor)

With this current build, i can somewhat run GTA on Low, COD3 on Low. But PC gets really really hot. I wont even try to record with that, my PC might just die.

If you need any additional information please let me know. thank you in advance!

^That will still require a new motherboard, which will most likely mean a new Windows license as well, and it may mean new RAM.
If you can afford it, migrating to an Intel system will be necessary to get the biggest performance boost, if the CPU is where the problem lies. You're going to want a new graphics card anyway, so go ahead and get a GTX950 or GTX960 now; see how much improvement you get. Also look into possible thermal issues and get that heat down, or at least discover its source.

ive seens worse computers run gtav on 1080/high setting with decent framerate, have you tried running it with higher settings?

as for upgrades cpu and gpu would be both good upgrades, but for a cpu upgrade if you went to a amd fx cpu or intel both require a motherboard upgrade. so id start with a gpu upgrade, either a gtx 960,970,980 etc, but your cpu will limit/bottleneck it but you would see a improvement ... your are at the point where you need to upgrade cpu, motherboard and gpu...

Thank you for the reply. I didn't think the motherboard would be an issue. I already have a GPU and CPU that I am looking at to buy in the future. Do you have any recommendations on a Motherboard?

Don't really have a budget, like i can save for the stuff. But looking for anything in the $150 - $200 range (each) i guess.
CPU - AMD Athlon X4 860K Black Edition CPU Quad Core
GPU - EVGA GeForce GTX 950 2GB

Can you tell why your case is getting so hot? What is heating up a lot? A program like HWMonitor can tell you.
Are your two fans arranged to blow air through your case, or were they both set up as exhausts (or intakes) ? If they're both the same, turn one of them around. Heat can cause thermal throttling.

Thank you both, this information is really helpful. I will look into getting a new GPU. And sorting out that fan issue, I never really took that into consideration. I might switch to intel when i build my next PC in a couple years. This would be the 3rd PC I built from scratch. Thank you for your help!
