Hello :)

I am going to build a PC around a intel i7-6700K, but I am not sure which motherboard to choose.

The price range should be around 150$, the less the better :)
It should be as easy as possible to OC the CPU.
SLI would be good but not necessary
not sure if i wanna get a M.2 SSD - so its also good but not necessary

I was thinking about ASUS Z170-A or Gigabyte GA-Z170-HD3P.

Which RAM would u recommend?
What is your opinion on both of those motherboards?
Would u recommend something completely different?
Or do i really need a motherboard which cost ~200$+?

Thanks in advance :)
Roman!

Another option is the Gigabyte GA-Z170X-Gaming 5:

Whilst the ASUS-A is a very good motherboard, I feel it is missing some things where other motherboards has. The Debug LED is helpful for diagnosing if any issues occurs. Sure the ASUS Z170-A has the Q LED, but the debug led code does help when it matters. The GA-Z170X-Gaming 5 is able to support two M.2 ssds.

Remember, you will also need a cpu cooler with your i7 6700k.
With ram, any decent brand should do. You should find out the ram clearance of your cpu cooler as it will determine whether you need low profile ram modules or not.

Thanks for the quick answer!
There is no fixed budget, i just like to have it as cost efficient as possible with all the mentioned demands! (beside the i7-6700K, which isnt really cost efficient i guess :) )
How much MHZ would u recommend for the RAM? I am not sure since i want to OC the CPU.

And do u think there would be a different between the gigabyte board and for example a asus rog maximus VIII when i am about to OC the cpu? (getting higher cpu speed / voltage)

thanks for the replay!
Why would u take it over the gigabyte board?
And another question since the ASUS Z170 PRO GAMING cost almost the same as the Z170-A (~10$ different), would u still take the Z170-A or the pro gaming, and why would u take the choosen one? :)
Thanks dude!
