Hi, i'm from Argentina, sorry if my english is not correct.
Well, i want to build a new pc and i have already chosen some parts:
-Case: Nzxt Phantom 410
-Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo
-HDD: 1TB WD Blue
My uncle also gave me his GPU STRIX-GTX960-DC2OC-2GD5 and his PSU Corsair CX750M, so i'll use them instead of buying others. Now i need to choose a cpu, mobo, and RAM.
My CPU options are: 4690K, 4790K and 6600K.
My MoBo options are: Asus Z97 Pro Gamer (1150), Asus Maximus VII Ranger (1150), Asus Z170 Pro Gaming (1151) and Asus Maximus VII Hero/Ranger (1151).
I'll use it for gaming and everyday use, and i plan to overclock in the future.
Are the RoG MoBos worth the extra money?
Do you recommend me to buy a Skylake + 1151 MoBo or Haswell + 1150 MoBo is still good?
Is the I7 overkill for the use i'll give it?
Please tell me what parts would you recommend me to buy
Thanks!

Solution
Honestly, no the ROG motherboards arent worth the extra money unless it has some feature you want, or you value the looks.

If I were you I would go for a skylake/DDR4 build. Go for the i7 if you can afford it, if not the i5 will be fine.

Not sure how the prices work out down there but I'd recommend going with the Skylake build at this point. If this is just for gaming the i5s are all you really need. Only get the i7 if the price doesn't matter to you or if you plan on doing production type work that will actually hammer the CPU, 3D, video rendering, etc. For just games the i7 really doesn't add that much.

I recommend the i5 6600k, if it's overpriced in your country the i5 4690k performs great still

Also id recommend getting a new power supply in the near future the cx750m is a very low quality unit, it shouldn't be used in a high end rig

If you do use it, I'd wouldn't recommend overclocking while you have it

Always get skylake. Any of the haswell cpus are outdated and you cant upgrade them. With skylake, you can upgrade them because there is a new line of skylake cpus that are going to launch later this year. if you are getting this pc to do gaming, just go with the 6600k. If you are using it as a workstation or less, get the i7 6700k. For the motherboard, I would choose the Asus maximus 7 hero. Thats basically the best one out of all of the others that you listed.
