Hello all, I have previously asked here again about one month ago which would be the best processor for a very budget build and I went with the i3 - 6100 and most of the other parts I had from before except the motherboard and the RAM.

The specs of my PC are:
CASE: Coolermaster Silencio 650 Pure
MOBO: Asus H110m-a
CPU: i3 - 6100 3.7GHZ
RAM: Kingston Hyperx CAS15 8GB 2133MHZ 1 stick
PSU: Corsair VS450
SSD: ADATA Premier Pro SP920SS 128 GB
HDD: Toshiba 720rpm 1TB
GPU: Gigabyte Geforce GTX 750-ti OC ver 2 overclocked +220 core +400 Memory +0 voltage

And I currently have as you can se only ONE stick of RAM of 8GB.
and my question is this: Because I video edit a little in my free time will 16GB help me a lot? also will I see a difference even when not using above 8GB or RAM just because I will have 2 RAM modules it will work faster? I got the 1 stick on a sale and didn't have the money to get another one at that time... Thanks for answering in advance!!

Solution
Having a pair of functionally identical DIMMs will enable you to use symmetrical dual-channel and give you a 5-10% performance boost from having twice the memory bandwidth even if you don't need 16GB. It doesn't hurt.

solution picked from InvalidError although all were very helpfull and just to clarify since it is established that I will have gains in performance I will get an exact same module of kingston 8gb so that there won't be any compatibility issues ( I hope)
edit: also the board and the cpu supports up to 32 gb ram so I won't have a problem with not recognize the full capacity of the DIMMs
