So my rig being as followed

i5 6500
H110 mobo
Corsair 2133mhz ddr4 4gb ram
R9 390

But when I game even like a very old game like need for speed most wanted 2012 I get 31fps and it even goes and dips to 20 which pisses me off so badly....but then when I opened the task manager I happened to see my ram usage being 95% while gaming....so is that the culprit or is it my 2000 model Seagate barracuda hdd 7200rpm cuz believe this slow ass hdd even sometimes keeps thinking and thinking for 30 seconds to open task manager

So what's the problem....cpu and gpu are top notch
Ram I guess so but one question as I only have 2 slots for ram can i just buy one 8 GB same corsair model ram and still keep 4gb intact as it's gonna be then 12 gb or just buy another 4gb exact model and make it dual channel as.....is dual channel that vital....can't we just put different capacity ram with exact model

Also is it cuz of my 16 years old hdd

Solution
I really wouldn't worry about the difference between single channel or dual channel or mixing an 8gb stick with your 4gb stick. In almost any non synthetic benchmark ie gaming or actual performance none of it matters.

For an example of the difference between single channel and dual channel see the following review.

on your new hardware make sure ram set to xmp profile. the mb has the newest bios file. whe nyou rebuilt your rig did you do a clean install of windows or did you have the old files still on. if you did your mb may not have the right drivers installed in the old version of windows. on a rebuild your better off doing a clean install of windows and installing the newest intel chipset and amd gpu drivers. on game loading and os booting can cause you to have slow loading. make sure with hd tune and vendor test tools the drive is fine. at some point pick up a 256g os boot drive. 4g of ram is not a lot if the ram under 40 day send it back for an 8g stick. you can buy another small stick but your wasting it if you need to go to 16g *8g) sticks by 2.

It's a very clean install Windows 10

Also it's been over 40 days so I'm pretty much stuck with it....so can I just buy another same model 4gb ram and would it work in dual channel settings also why some people say that I made a mistake as I dint buy rams in kits so if now I buy same exact model ram 4gb it wouldn't work cuz internal ram version difference

Also what's dual channel anyway and why people are so crazy about it....is it that perfomance enhancer
