Hello,

I've been looking for a motherboard to get for some system upgrades, and on PCPartPicker, I keep running into a compatibility issue with my current case, which is a Cooler Master Centurion 5 ATX Mid. Because the case does not have USB 3.0 headers, any motherboard I add to my list comes up with the compatibility problem. A couple of the motherboards I have looked at are the Gigabyte GA-797X-SLI and the ASRock 797 Extreme6. Would it really matter if the case does not have USB 3.0 headers, or do I need a new case which supports it? It does have two ports in the back of the case for 3.0. Thank you.

Solution
All that means is that the USB3.0 header on the board will go unused. The USB2.0 headers on your case will still connect to their respective headers normally. The board's rear USB3.0 ports will still function, as will any USB2.0 ports.
