My keyboard and mouse won't turn on until after the bios screen shows up, I just recently got a new SSD and i want to put windows on it, so I wiped my hard drive and cloned it to my ssd, now I was told to choose the boot device in bios as the SSD. But I cant do that because my keyboard wont turn on to press DEL or F11.

I have an msi motherboard, and my keyboard and mouse Absolutely used to work on bios, just until recently I installed my ssd, I tried different usb ports, and I tried only plugging in my ssd or only my hard drive in sata.

It'd be helpful to get an answer. Because I have random pc shut downs and I believe its a hard drive issue.

Thanks

A ps2 keyboard is the way to go, and I would also try clearing the CMO's. I mean the hard drive has nothing to due with the hard drive so I would go get a $20 ps2 keyboard and try it. If you SSD was dead or dying it simply wouldn't boot into windows or it would take about 30 minutes as it would slow to a crawl. Tell me if you tried anything else in the time after you initial post! Best luck!
