Hi to all
I'm a seasoned web developer, new poster (old user) to Tom's, here doing my 1st Windows build.
I've built plenty of Macbook Pro's in the past, and 2 years ago I went out on my own (started my own web development business) and I'm doing great.
It's time however to upgrade my system and since cost-wise you can get a lot better (higher performing) system by building it yourself, I thought now would be the time to jump in
My question is about DDR4 memory.
Everything that I see advertised is all about overclocking and frequency rates etc etc.
I want to put 32GB in the rig below, but I need to know whether to by 2400, 2800, 3000...?
Is it stable at 3000? I don't want to be overclocking and all that... just a nice quiet system with some real guts and plenty of upgrade-ability.
What brand and frequency should I buy for this system?
My use-case scenario for this system is ZERO gaming, lots of coding and web development, lots of internet work, lots of Adobe including Photoshop, Illustrator, light Premiere Pro, 4k video playback (as in watching clients' newly created advertising videos) and server programming.
My new build currently stands at:
Intel 6700k 4.0Ghz CPU
Asrock z170 Fatality Professional i7 MotherBoard
BeQuiet Dark Rock TF CPU Cooler
3x Samsung 950 Pro - 512Gb SSD Drives
EVGA GTX 970 SSC ACX+ 2.0 GPU (used)
Seasonic 1050 Snow Silent PSU
Corsair 750D Case
Windows 10 Pro
CyberPower 1500 Sine-wave Backup UPS
with Thermal paste & a LG dvd player I'm at $2,970

For monitors I use 3x Dell 2415 at 1980x1200
Internet wise, I run a SB6183 Modem and a Asus RT-AC88U which supports
teaming, which I plan to use with the dual GB Ports on the motherboard and
the Windows 10 workaround code.
I purposely decided to wait another year (2017) to upgrade to a solid 4k setup.
My plan there is to upgrade to:
6 Core Processor (z270 maybe?)
New motherboard also based on NVMe ssd's
Pascal Graphics Card(s)
2x 4k Monitors + the 3 I use now.
I think everything else in my build will be re-usable...?
Anybody spot any issues there?
I have most of the parts from Amazon already, but I'm still in the return period if I need to change anything.
Thank you in advance for your input and thoughts... and while I'm at it, thank you all for all the great information over the past few years on Tom's Hardware. This is a great forum.
Sincerely,
PowerDev in Naples FL.
Update:
I was thinking of using GSkill Trident 3000 2x16GB Case 14?
