Hello guys. Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask but I do not know what could be causing my problem. For the past two months, my PC hard locks and emits a high pitched sound and the only way for me to shut it down is to hold the power button. This has happened about four or five times, all at random. It has happened while watching Youtube, reading a webpage, and while playing a game. What is going on with my PC? My specs are:

Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3P
CPU: AMD FX 6300 3.5 GHz
GPU: Sapphire Radeon R9 270X 4GB
RAM: G. Skill Sniper 16GB DDR3

Solution
To rule out some hardware, try running a memtest86 and a hard drive health scan is not a bad idea. From there, it's most likely guessing between the motherboard and PSU. My money would probably be on the PSU.

Or just remove one stick of memory, shortcut rather than a long memtest.
