Core i5 ivy bridge or athlon X4 880k for gaming?

Dear all,

Please advise, i need to improve my gaming performance, right now i have an athlon X4 860k paired with GTX 960, i need to upgrade it so i able to play game with smooth graphics. which one is better to improve gaming experience, Core i5 ivy bridge or athlon X4 880k??

i5 will destroy the athlon. A i5 4460 or higher i5 or even an i7 will give solid improvements. But if your looking to increase fps and performance over all. Upgrade your gpu n cpu honestly.

Thanks for the answer buddy, but i need advise between X4 860k and Core i5 Ivy Bridge, cause i ran out of budget anyway, hahaha. Honestly, i feel quite satisfiy with my current GPU, but with this CPU stuttering sometimes happened.

yeah that CPU athlon 860k is terrible in my opinion an I5 4460 ivy bridge will be a performance gain. Exactly what I stated on my first post

LOL wow yeah sorry i was meaning the i5 3570k or above will do very well for ivy bridge. Very sorry about that at 3am brain goes a bit hazy. Do apologize. The i5 3570k is roughly a 50%+ performance increase over the athlon x4
