Hello guys,

I have a i3 4130 + gtx 750. I am looking forward to upgrade it with the following:
i7 4790 + gigabyte gtx 960 2gb oc(I dont want to overclock the cpu).

I have shortlisted these parts after lots of research. Earlier I thought of getting a i7 4790k but due to stock cooler heating up issues I have thought of getting the i7 4790 and fixing it 3.9ghz in bios. I am also going for 2gb vram because the 4gb does not help the 960's 128bit memory bus and in this process it will save me some real cash.

I want to play latest games at high settings. I would also like to overclock the gpu to bring out more performance.

What do you guys think about my system upgrade?

Thanks to all who reply.

VRAM doesn't work like that. Either you have enough and everything is fine or you don't and then performance degrades to the point of non-playability. benchmarks won't help. Get a 4g card if you want to be ok. i was already having issues with a 2gb card last year so i upgraded.
