When comparing with previous releases, by both nvidia and amd, will performance for dollar increase significantly (eg. if the 1070 comes out, will it be the same price as the 970 with better performance, or will it be more expensive?) After no news from nvidia, and rumours that the polaris cards will only be released near july, i might just get a card from the current generation, unless there is a massive increase in performance per dollar.
i would assume a 980/390x will last at least 2 more years at high settings for games, and will still be able to support every single game at least at low/med for the next few years, and sli/crossfire support could help for newer titles. please correct me if i'm wrong, and if pascal/polaris will blow the current gen out of the water, cus it seems like pascal will only improve performance by 70% instead of the 10x the power previously stated (those rumours may be wrong though)
another quick question, which of these cards will be better at 2d and basic 3d rendering, the 970. 980, 390 or 390x, will vram affect the results much?
