Asus Maximus VIII Gene vs GA-Z170MX-Gaming 5

Solution
Take your pick.
In the past, I have not much liked the killer lan vs. Intel on the gene.

FWIW, you do not need exotic cooling to overclock a skylake cpu.
How well you can oc is determined by your luck in getting a good chip.
Here are the odds:
As of 2/16/16
What percent can get an overclock at a somewhat sane 1.40v Vcore.

I7-6700K
4.8 18%
4.7 56%
4.6 87%
4.5 100%
A simple tower type cooler with a 120 or 140mm fan will do the job.
I have no problems with a 6600K @4.8 using a noctua NH-U12s
