Hi there, So Im looking at buying a better Motherboard for my PC. I'm not very tech savvy but I've found a good deal on the Asus ROG Maximus VIII Hero Motherboard, Which I'll also be getting a 730W Pure Power Modular Bronze PSU.

I don't look to upgrade anything else on my PC just yet apart from the PSU And Motherboard, But I have to assume that this board doesn't accept DDR3, So I guess Ill have to buy some DDR4 Ram also, Right?

Heres what my PC right now consists of -

CPU
Intel Core i5 4670K @ 3.40GHz Haswell 22nm Technology

RAM
8.00GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 666MHz (9-9-9-24)

Motherboard
Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd. Z97X-Gaming 3 (SOCKET 0)

Graphics

MSI R9 280X

Storage
931GB Seagate ST1000DM 003-1ER162 SCSI Disk Device (SATA)
111GB Samsung SSD 840 EVO 120G SCSI Disk Device (SSD

If I change my motherboard, Will it be compatible with the rest of my build? Thankyou!

Thank you, I knew I'd have to buy some new RAM, And I guess I could sell my current CPU and upgrade to a new one. But the question is, Would this Motherboard and GPU be a good investment for future upgrades? I mean, The deal appears to be very good, I'd be getting the Motherboard + The PSU for only £170. So technically, the PSU is free seeing as the Mobo sells for that alone. I've been told that my current build is getting old and outdated, And Sometime down the line I'd like to upgrade my GPU also. So im a little torn, And know very little about PC's.
