Hi Guys

what would be good motherboard upgrade for AMD FX4300 Black Edition 4 Core (3.8/4.0GHz,, at the moment i have Asrock n68-vs3 fx am3+
I have ordered some new ram 2X8 gig and im not sure my board will take that, also i want to upgrade to usb 3,

ps is a ASRock 990FX Extreme3 a good match

Your mobo will take 2x8GB (1600), and the 990FX would be a good upgrade, if planning to upgrade CPU down the road, but if thinking new mobo and CPU, would move to Intel or wait and see what AMD comes out with on the Zen CPUs

Do you really need all of that ASRock 990FX Extreme3 ?

Snag something like the Asus Pro Aura for roughly the same price, and get m.2 and USB 3.1.

thanks guys, my next build is gonna be intel, but for next year or so, just wanna be able to game bit, im on budget, so dont wanna spend more than i have to, as i will be saving for intel, the Asus Pro Aura and 990fx are around same price here (uk) £90 do i need all that or can i go cheaper, bearing in mind i wont be updating anything on what ive got, till ive got enough for intel set up (1-2 years)

Ive installed new graphics card gtx 950, so that i could play dx11/12 games, but i found the cpu athlon II x4 640 was maxing out when playing, and i was getting bit of stuttering in the games, thats why i got FX4300 (not arrived yet) will the new cpu help on its own or do i need to upgrade motherboard.
