i7 6700k vs i5 6600k for VR and gaming pc

i am buliding a new rig and i have to choose between these two cpus which one should i get i will be buying an oclus rift or the vive so which one would make gaming better when using it also i dont do any video editing i just game so which one should i get.

also any problems with my proposed rig would be helpful

Honestly, if you're looking to do 3D, I'd think many of the better optimized games will benefit from the added threads the i7 brings to the table. Even if they don't now, they likely will soon.

Add in the possibility of using a secondary set of programs to decode the 3D and create the HMD interactions (I use tridef for stereoscopic 3D on my TV), they'll take extra cores and threads if the game itself doesn't.

Better to regret having too much hardware than not enough.
