Hi there!
I'm looking for help finding a good gaming headset, I've looked around a bit and some popular choices seem to be:

Hyperx Cloud/Cloud II
Steelseries Siberia V2
Plantronics GameCom 780/788
Corsair H2100

What I'm looking for is good sound quality and a mic that doesn't make me sound like I'm wearing a space helmet:D. Surround sound and all those things would be nice but aren't really important. I'd like to be able to use it with both my PC and phone/tablet and if the mic is good enough maybe make a few youtube video's.

So from all those which do you think is the best option and why? And if you have a different suggestion in a similar price range please let me know. Also I live in Ireland so any purchases I make would most likely be from Amazon UK so please keep that in mind since prices can vary a lot between the US, UK and Europe:).

Thanks in advance!

yeah, there are certainly some other options available which are good (headphone + mic options) but in terms of headsets its on the better end of things for sure other than some products outside your budget.

no clue about the revolver as no information is really widely available. you need to be careful of non-user reviews as they may paint a product in a different light than actual or more favorably then they should. best way to know? listen to mic tests on youtube to determine quality and read user reviews from people who have used both headsets for their thoughts.

i cant say i'm a headset user myself (i have a hifi surround system i use) so i would not know how they compare in detail. i've heard the cloud in person though and its...
i would say the hyper x cloud 2 (which is based on the takstar pro 80) would be the beset out of those 4. overall decent sound quality compared with an okay mic. want virtual? razer virtual surround free http://www.razerzone.com/surround or you can get a xonar dg (if your onboard audio doesnt support virtual already).

some mic tests of the hyper x cloud 2

after 3:30 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=468oKQ551UU
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qQHd8c5IfEU (sounds like he has his mic volume low)

another option would be to go with something like the hd518 and perhaps a neewer nw800 or similar cheap budget mic like the snowball ice. modmic would also work well but not sure if its in budget. hd558 and hd598 are an upgrade.

Thanks for the advice! The Hyperx Cloud II was the one I was considering most. I heard a lot of good things about it, I just wanted to be sure there wasn't something better out there that I was missing:). By the way, do you know anything about how the Cloud II compares to the new Cloud Revolver? I know it's still on preorder but there are some reviews out there and I thought you might know something more about it.:D

Thats good to know thanks, I've listened to at least one mic test from the Revolver, sounds a bit better than the Cloud 2 but other than that I know next to nothing about it, I'd say I'll wait until it's not on preorder anymore, that way even if it's not much better it should drive down the price of Cloud II like it did with the original Cloud.
