Woke up today, Went to power my pc on and nothing.

If i flip the switch on back of PSU. Hold Power button and then flip it back itll power right back on.

But at first it would shut down on login screen over and over again. So i was able to reset my pc to factory settings.. Which ive been meaning to do.

Then it worked good for about 2 hours while playing Arma2 it shut down again and same issue turning back on.

Its not over heating, I keep Speccy and Speedfan open on 1 of my other monitors to make sure because i was having issues with it over heating a month ago. But i've upgraded CPU fan.

CPU - AMD FX-8350 8 core,
RAM - 16Gb ram. 2 Rip Jaws and 2 Corsair Vengeance.
GPU - Radeon R9 290
PSU - thermaltake 600 or 650 watt. idr model

Windows 10

Also OS running on Solid State drive.
According to Speedfan says its fitness is about 40% and performance is 80% not sure what that means.

Would this be PSU? I no longer have test parts, Built another pc with them and gave it away.

System crashes are likely video driver issues. System shutdowns are likely a failing power supply, all other things being normal. To add to that, Thermaltake does not make the best power supplies around. While it's not able to be said with certainty, it sounds like the power supply could be the problem.

It just shuts down instantly. and I know thermaltake isn't good. But when i first built this pc a few years ago, My power supply was doa. and this was the only 1 bestbuy had over 350 Watts. But i'll buy a new one and test it. Thanks.

Whoa hold on there. Let's make sure you get a good one this time. We can help you select one if you give us a budget and location.

$100-200 and Michigan.

Also.

Update. So computer powered down again and this time wouldn't turn on anymore for more than a few seconds. Power supply starts up with ear piercing screeches.

So I let it sit an hour. Tried 3 times. Same thing. Pulled it out. Tried again. It started up. Got a message saying BIOs was corrupted. It backed up. And now I'm able to use my PC again. For how long. I'm not sure.
