I have a msi r9 280x in a asus b85m gamer motherboard. I feel the card is too heavy and I have a doubt that it will bend the pcie slot. Does that ever happen and is the pcie slot strong enough to prevent bending. If it can bend how can I prevent it.
Thats all marketing mumbo jumbo. PCIe lanes bending are extremely rare.
IF it were to happen, it probably would be covered by either ASUS or MSI. But no, I dont see it happening.
PCIe slots have been known to rarely break under stress, but this is more so when the system is hit with a heavy card inside.
That being said, I doubt your 280x would cause any issues. Do you have a picture of the system?

heavy cards according to you are. I asked this question because on a manufacturer. Site of motherboard there was a picture of a bend pcie slot and written that their motherboard won't have such issues. So are Asus products trustworthy. And if pcie slot bends or breaks is it covered in warranty
