Hello all.

Sorry for the out of date hardware but I was screwing around with my grandmas pc which has the foxconn g33m02 motherboard in it. The CPU in it just isn't cutting it because it a Pentium Duo at 1.60GHz. So I have a ton of Pentium D 945's and Q6600 but my grandmas motherboard isn't posting with any other CPU in it.

Does this board not want to support these CPUs since it's a trashy dell? Is the bios old and can I mod or flash a new bios to make these CPUs work? Can I even flash this Bios anyways?

You and me both... If it's any consolation E8600s on eBay are <$20 and even less if you don't go right for the Buy It Now option. You could always experiment with software-based overclocking with something like ClockGen, you got nothin' to lose ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

EDIT: Ending up quoting myself somehow...

Pretty much this. The power delivery on the G33M02 is insufficient for any processors over 65W or that have more than 2 cores. Thus, the Core 2 Duo E8600 is the best processor that mobo can take. It sucks that you can't use any of your current procs, but that's the reality of owning a Dell. Well, that Dell anyway.

That's bullshit. I can't even believe they sell this trash. Now I have two inspirion 530s that I can't do ANYTHING with. Oh well time to build her a real pc anyway
