Isn't the GTX 960 supposed to overclock well

It's disgusting
I can barely do an extra 100 Mhz overclock without it flashing retardedly like a lightshow on GTA V
Wtf? isn't this card advertised as being a great overclocker?
I had very nice, very rough turds from when I used to live in new york that overclocked a whole lot better than this, I can tell you that.

You could damage it. Its not likely but it is possible. Which is why you want to take small steps overclocking because if you jump a huge amount it will definitely crash immediately and it could temperature spike and do damage.

At best you could corrupt your windows install in crashing your PC. At worst you can damage the memory or processor in the card.

Which model is it (the model you have may already be pushed to nearly the max)? How much airflow do you have? Did you turn up the voltage?

Both of my GPU's could barely get 75mhz more without changing the voltage. Stock they are 850mhz, but they are factory overclocked to 933. These are things you need to look at when overclocking.

They're the MSI Gaming Model, believe me, on heavy load, with heavy overlocks (200 Mhz+) the temps don't surpass the 50c, but for some reason on GTA V and hell, Dying light, huge artifacts pop up, flashing red and blue squares in miliseconds

This is getting quite ridiculous, I toned down the memory clocks back to stock and it still happens, it's a very rapid red flash, sometimes blue, only happens with MSAA turned on, any reason? is my card going to die or is it a shit overclocker?

Yeah if you overclock the crap out of the ram that will do it. You need to be very careful of these things when overclocking you can do actual damage to your equipment. Overclocking should be done in small steps and be VERY careful of every setting.

Thank you, however, if I don't mess with the voltages, no matter how high I overclock, it won't damage right?
