Hi guys,

I have a problem with my new built PC. Here's the configuration (everything is new):

- Mainboard: Gigabyte x99 SLI
- CPU: i7 5820K
- GPU: MSI GTX 980
- PSU: Corsair 650W (also tested with my old 750W)
- RAM: 2x 8GB G.Skill DDR4
- CPU cooler: Cryorig R1
- Storage: Sandisk 240GB SSD + WD 1TB HDD

When I try to boot it, all fans start spinning and the "LED-Strip" on the mainboard lights up, but after about 3 seconds everything is killed and it starts all over again and again and again. System speaker is connected but no beeps at all. Display not showing anything.

Then I tried with the other PSU going from 650W to 750W, same result. No beeps.

Then I removed everything leaving it to the Mainboard, CPU and CPU cooler. Same result, no beeps. With both PSUs.

Then I took the board out of the case onto some cardboard and tested again. Same result, no beeps.

I returned the Mainboard and got an other one (same model), but the result stays exactly the same.

I removed the CMOS battery for a couple of seconds, same result. Switched the battery, same results.

Instead of beeps I get some sort of "clicking" noise, but I don't know where it is coming from.

I don't know what to do next. Any advice is much appreciated!

Solution

Update:
I inserted the RAM in slot 3 and 4 (previously it was 1 and 2) and inserted the GPU.
Now I get a picture on the monitor saying BIOS reset.

CPU and PSU fans both start spinning and this "LED-strip" on the mainboard lights up. But after a couple of seconds they stop spinning, the LED goes out and it start the process over and over again.
