Can Corsair AF120 (performance or quiet led) work at 5V?

Hello everyone. I will be buying 2 new case fans as intake fans (1 in the bottom 1 in the front) for my TT commander ms-1 case. There are no slots for 3pin available on my mobo so I will buy a molex-to-3pin adapter (akasa cb001). It has 4x3pin headers. 2 of them work at 12v and the other 2 work at 5v. On corsairs official site it states that both af120 performance edition and quiet edition (led) work at minimum 7v. I am worried about one of the fans that i will select tomorrow (quiet or performance ed.) being loud at 12v or not working/spinning at 5v. Can somebody help? (Also some people say that quiet edition led fans are loud while spinning at 12v/max speed)

Best you remove all the guess work and work with a PWM fan splitter which can run off any 4 or 3 pin fan header on your motherboard. I'd suggest having them run your case fans so when paired with a custom fan curve, your fans ramp up or slow down based on the custom fan curve or as your CPU load climbs or dwindles.

Suggestions:
Swiftech 8way PWM Splitter
Akasa 5 way Flexa FP5S
EK Cable Splitter 4way PWM extended
