I have had some issues with my mouse recently. For no consistant reason, after about 5-15 mins of use, my mouse will start pausing randomly. My computer doesn't seem to be freezing during these pauses because nothing software wise misses a beat and my keyboard still functions. I don't think its a hardware issue because when I dissconect and reconect my mouse from the USB it works fine for another 5-15 mins. None of the fixes I found on other threads worked for me. I noticed it first after a power outage, but that might be unrealated. My mouse is wired and I'm on Windows 10 upgraded from Windows 7. Thanks in advance.

Take a look at the Event Viewer logs on your computer.

Look for any informational entries, warnings, or error codes occuring just before or at the time of the freeze.

You can also run the performance monitor while working on your computer. Look for processes, services, or resources that start, stop, or reach a high level of usage.

Could also be that the power outage caused some corruption of the mouse driver or some other driver that, in turn, is now conflicting with the mouse.

Watch the logs, reinstall the mouse drivers (which you may have already tried - i.e., "None of the fixes...") and overall just be aware of what you and your system are doing at any given time.

May take some time and attention but anything you can spot may...

I have exactly the same issue on Windows 8.1: wired USB mouse freezes for 0.5-1 seconds every 5-15 minutes no matter what applications are in the memory. I tired to disable various services (including firewall and antivirus) with no result. Event Log did not give me any hints either (even the most recent informational events were dated last night). I also tried a Bluetooth mouse. It was freezing even more often. Tried my wired mouse on my laptop (Windows 7): had no issues at all. Also tried a different USB port: same thing. Just to add, there was no any power outage or suspected file corruptions whatsoever.
The system has been cleaned/tuned up, only sound and video drivers (just in case upgraded them too) are in the startup.
There was no need to upgrade the mouse driver as it is the original one coming with Windows: it worked before so why would it stop working now?
Any suggestions on what else I should try?

The current driver may not be fully working because something in Windows changed. And that change may not be readily apparent as relevant or related.

Go to the manufacturer's website and download the current Windows 10 driver for your make and model mouse. While there check the forums and FAQ's. Could be a new/known problem that can be solved by rolling back to an older driver. Even a driver intended for an earlier version of Windows.

And you can also press the WIN key and R key together to open the Run box. Type "perfmon /rel" (without quotes) in the Open box.

You will see a calendar based list of errors and events. Look for anything (errors, warnings, etc.) that occurs just before or at the time of the freeze. Red circles with a white "x" inside can be clicked for more information. Maybe an error code will be presented...

When I tried to update the mouse driver, the process hanged, so I figured there must be something wrong with it and tried to uninstall it, instead. Windows seemed to remove it without questions but got stuck on the restarting screen, so I was forced to do a hard power off.
Anyway, after rebooting and automatic driver re-installing, the issue seemed to disappear but got back after a while.
So it wasn't a driver...
By the way, I tried another mouse from of a different brand. Same problem.
