Upgrading DG33BU Core 2 Duo to Core 2 Quad

Hello!
I have a Core 2 Duo CPU E8200 @ 2.66 GHz with 6MB Cache , 1333 MHz,
65 W TDP , 775 LGA Socket , Codename Wolfdale , Technology 45 nm ,
2GB RAM DDR 2 PC2-6400(400 MHz)each, 256 MB Nvidia GeForce 8400GS
The Motherboard is DG33BU , I wanted to ask u if i can upgrade my core 2 duo processor to any core 2 Quad or quad core Processor on this motherboard.
Please answer this question in detail if u can.

Yes, as long as you have the necessary BIOS version or later. You'll also notice that some processors have certain m/b part numbers listed. If the CPU isn't universal to all boards, it will have the PCB that it was tested in.

Run CPU-Z and look under the Mainboard tab.

If you need to update the BIOS, verify this is the correct motherboard: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/product/50376/Intel-Desktop-Board-DG33BU
If that is an Intel board but in an OEM build like a HP or Dell, they may have specific BIOS updates strictly for their rendition of the board. If it is a retail Intel board, the above link should be OK, as long as that is indeed your board.
