i5 4670k with r9 390?

I'm going to upgrade my r9 270x to an r9 390 but I was wondering if my i5 4670k (3.4 ghz) would be a bad pair with it or should I upgrade it as well.

@suzuki I have one more question, my motherboard (don't have the exact model right now) apparently doesn't have the ability to overclock, but my cpu is overclockable. Do you think I should get a Z97 or something like that to be able to use that ability?

(Using a 500w corsair I believe)

The wattage is not the limiting factor on that Corsair. It's the internal components which aren't very high quality, and it will choke under load, and shutdown to prevent damage.

If you have a budget, then we'll be able to help you find something more suited for your setup. Please also list a website.

Oh, not CX 500W? Well, we're going to have to know the exact model # then. :)
