I recently added a GTX 750 ti to my oem pc and everything has been going well, but I'm thinking of adding more RAM aswell. The thing is, both RAM slots are occupied. Would it be a good idea to remove both sticks and replace them with 2x4GB? Would power consumption change significantly?

Current specs are:
I7-3770 3.4ghz
GTX 750 ti
6GB RAM
1TB hdd
300W psu

Solution
Your best bet would be to use a matched kit as you suggested to avoid compatibility problems. Maybe you can sell the old stuff to offset the cost. The additional power consumed by adding more RAM is inconsequential, a few watts at most.

Power consumption really shouldn't be affected in a significant way. However, with an i7 and a 750ti, you might be maxing out that poor 300W PSU. You'll probably be fine for your RAM upgrade, but if I were you, I'd have a PSU upgrade planned for the near future.

Well money is kind of a problem right now and its an oem pc so I'll have to get a new case aswell. Everything has been working well though.

Yes, it has been running very well even with games like DayZ and KSP. :)
