Is the GIGABYTE GA-B85M-DS3H-A LGA 1150 Intel B85 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard compatible with the new Intel Core i7-6700(skylake) processors? Or will I have to upgrade to a better motherboard in order to use this. I also am running a 550W PSU, will I have to upgrade my PSU aswell when I upgrade my CPU to the Skylake?

Solution
well that PSU is more than fine for just CPU and even a 960 as well. as for the motherboard, you need a z100 series chip set. that board is for the 4000 series.

The B85 chipset is Haswell, using Socket LGA 1150 - Skylake uses a completely different socket, LGA 1151.

In short, no, they're not compatible.

As far as your PSU, if it handles a Haswell CPU without problem, then Skylake will put less power draw on there, so it should be fine.
That being said though, if your PSU is of poor quality (we'd need the make & model to know further) it would be helpful to replace it to avoid putting any new investment in components at risk. If it's already a quality PSU, you should expect no problems at all.

For Skylake, you'd need a new board, and some support DDR3, although most support DDR4. You should select a DDR4 board and new RAM.

Do you have a recommendation for a new motherboard then? I have a mid-tower case

I think my PSU should be able to handle it then, I have a Corsair CSM 550W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply
