Turning on XMP and after computer can't boot back (nor into BIOS)

so i have a msi x79a-gd45 plus, and recently went to BIOS to turn on the XMP option and after I saved it, the computer would not start back on again. I tried to even go back to bios but it wouldn't bo

Your board should have some pins to clear cmos (bios back to factory) Your manual page 1-36 will tell you how, this will reset bios and you can boot into it. This will wipe the XMP setting back but others too, you will need to restore some settings like sata mode (AHCI , video mode PCIe etc

You can clear the CMOS RAM by shorting this jumper (touching metal screwdriver onto both pins for 10 seconds)while the system is off(unplugged). Afterwards,
open the jumper . Do not clear the CMOS RAM while the system is on because it will
damage the mainboard.

thanks for the quick reply but i also need to take out the CMOS battery for 5 minutes? Do i need to take the plastic pin out or just pull it upwards towards me??

No the battery is the other way, just touching the pins as above is the easiest and preferred way
