Hello guys,

Would like some purchase advice...

have been looking the past hour for cpu/motherboards for my pc
(mainly used for gaming) budget is around 300 euro..

currently my set up is:

VTX3D R9 270 (X-Edition) | 2GB GDDR5
6 GB DDR3
i3 530 @2.93ghz
SG_Aspire_M5811 Motherboard
Win10
600 or 700 watt, cant remember, upgraded it a year ago i believe.

i believe my motherboard is damaged, i have huge harddrive issues, but iam not sure
(already bought multiple HDD and the slow loads/bad sectors etc stays.)

got 2x8 gb ram as spare parts, but my current pc doesnt like them.

The whole LG1150/LG1151 discussions confuse me, i thought it would be better/cheapter to buy an older generation but what do i know.

anyone has some recommendation for me ?

Thanks in advance

If you want to use your DDR3 memory you'll be limited to Haswell parts, LGA1150. It's unlikely you have low voltage memory for Skylake. You should be able to get an i5-4460 or i5-4590 with an H97 board for less than 300 EUR. Your computer has a smaller mATX (micro ATX) board so be sure you buy the same or it won't fit in the case. I have no way of knowing for sure if your memory will be compatible with the new board but most DDR3 should work fine.

Now, after saying all that, my personal recommendation is to make a new build. You have an older store bought system and upgrading them can be problematic. There's never any guarantee that new parts will fit or work properly with the old hardware. You seem to need new drives also from what...

A new motherboard means a clean windows installation. Same with a new drive. You could bring your 270X into a new build but the rest looks ready to retire.

a complete new build sounds good. but 300€ wont be enough for it..

i can probably spend 300€ per month, what should i purchase first ? (lets say i wanna invest 900€ total)
should i do my own research and come back later ?

iam sorry for being so inconsistent., i dont have that much knowledge about pc´s and the amount of new stuff every year seems endless for me.
