OK so I had built a computer a few months ago and I had to wait to buy another couple pieces (a bigger psu and a graphics card) so I got them and install them no issues there then I turn on the computer download the drivers for the card then go to try and open steam (I hadn't realized the icon was messed up) and it doesn't open (obvs), so I check my computer and my second drive isn't there, I then restart and go into bios, lo and behold it's not there either, so I go about changing all the wires making sure they're all working (my ssd and CD drive show up and work) I then switch Sata ports, using all of them and still nothing, I even bought a new hard drive and that one doesn't show up either, so what could be the issue?

No, I used the proper screw to hold it in

How would I test them like that can I just place them on a surface that doesn't conduct electricity or do I have to get a dock?

Well, Jesus Christ what are the odds of that? I'll call some friends see if they will lend me a spare system. That would be just my luck anyway

No I did try it without the gpu, but here's a component list if it'll help
CPU- Intel Core i7 4790k
Motherboard- Asus Z97 Pro Wifi AC
RAM- Crucial Ballistix Sport 16 gb
SSD- Silicon Power S60 240GB
HDD (the seeming issue)- Toshiba X300 5 TB
GPU- EVGA GeForce GTX 980 Ti FTW
Case- Corsair 200R ATX Mid Tower
PSU- EVGA SuperNOVA 1000G2 1000W
Optical Drive- LG WH16NS40 Blu-Ray/DVD/CD Writer
And any reasonable idea that may help isn't stupid, at least that's how I see it, I came here for help not to patronize people for trying to help me
