I have a Dell i15R SE-4570, upgraded to Windows 10, and recently I acquired a WD Elements 4TB external HD. I'm downloading at max speed on utorrent, and when I plug the HD, the connection gets really slow. I've switched USB ports, and nothing helped. I'm using a 2.4Ghz router, and I read somewhere that USB 3.0 my interfere with that.

Any advice?
Thank you

Welcome, rapfaria!

I'd suggest you check the USB 3.0 hub controller drivers from your laptop manufacturer's website. You should be able to find your model there with all the available drivers and utilities compatible with Windows 10. The OS upgrade could have potentially replaced the manufacturer's drivers with those of Windows Updates (which tend to be generic and a bit outdated). Another thing you could check is the firmware on your router and make sure you have the latest one installed. If you have a spare USB 3.0 cable, you should plug the WD Elements with it instead and see if the Internet connection will be affected again.

Keep me posted with the troubleshooting & good luck!
