Hi,
I had a HDD and a SSD and my OS was installed on the SSD! when I removed my hdd, windows wouldn't boot !!! then I did something stupid, I entered the Bios and changed the "boot mode" to "UEFI" and ...
I can't enter Bios and when I turn on my laptop these things happen:
1.there's Lenovo Logo (doesn't boot from DVD or bootable USB)
2.then this message:
"Default boot device missing or boot failed. ..."
3.then it goes to "boot manager" and says : "choose one of the options below and press Enter..." but there's nothing to select...!
4.then if I press Esc, screen changes and this text is shown: "No bootable device -- please restart computer"
please Help me!
I took out the ssd and am check disking it for errors in another PC right now!.

laptop: Lenovo z410 core i5
SSD: samsung evo

Solution
if you have a "novo" button press that to see if you can get into the bios and put your settings back to what they were. Apparently your HDD was the drive that had Windows on it.

It worked!
Thank you very very much! I'm in your debt!
Though I'm still confused, cause my OS is on my SSD and not my HDD... That I'm sure of
... who cares... it's working!
